Introduction conference

The first TimberEDU conference took place on the 10th of October 2024 in Galway, Ireland.

The aim was to gather together academia and industry to discuss key topics and potential pathways for improvement of education in sustainable timber construction. Representatives of both industry and education presented on what is needed in the workforce, what the existing education plans are, and discussed what is needed to build the necessary bridges to close the gap.

The conference and workshop was a fruitful event for the TimberEDU project with our aim to  “train the teachers” and it also provided excellent networking opportunities for those present.

The TimberEDU team would like to sincerely thank our guest speakers for giving their time to attend and present at the event, and to all attendees for their participation and enthusiasm in the discussions on the day, whether online or in person!
