The first face-to-face meeting of the project partners took place at the institution of the leading partner, TTK. During the two days we got to know each other and had very comprehensive and productive discussions. Partners participated both face-to-face as well as virtually.
The first day was dedicated to the project overview, partnership and management. One of the project author's, Laura Tupėnaitė explained the project's background, objectives and expected results. Also, as most of the partnership was new, then each partner gave a brief overview of their institution and the project team. We also got a chance to vitit Estonias' biggest timber building - Pelgulinna Riigigümnaasium. A big thanks goes to the community leader in PERG for the tour and to the structural engineer Tõnis Agasild from Arro & Agasild for the view into the structure.
On the second day, focus was on the content. The project is divided into two larger topics - pedagogical and professional competences. In spring 2024 we start activities reagrding the pedagogical competences - first a one-day online training in February followed by a three-day face-to-face training in Findland, both organized by LAUREA UAS, so discussions involved arrangements of those. The professional competences activities start in October with the one-day introduction conference in Ireland, for which we started making plans for. The second and last day was finished by brainstorming on the topics of timber structures, that we should commit to in our project.
Thank You to all participants and wishing us an interesting journey in the TimberEDU project!
